The Haunted Tank

When I saw the new
"Haunted Tank" mini series, I was taken back to when I was a kid and my aunt gave me my first comic books. They were 3 issues of GI Combat featuring the Haunted Tank which have since been long lost and the stories only barely remembered.

The new miniseries by writer Frank Marraffino and artist Henry Flint brings back General JEB Stuart of the Confederate army to help his descendant Jamal Stuart in Iraq, only Jamal doesn't necessarily want the help of a Confederate soldier, even if he happens to be the ghost of his "great, great grand-something."

When the Haunted Tank first rolled out, it was WWII and the dialogue of the GI's featured prominently with soldier jargon, minus the vulgarities of course, but that was merely DC, this new series is DC Vertigo which means we get the full on jargon and language of the modern soldier. (and I do mean Language!)

The series also has surprisingly funny moments, like when Jamal and JEB realize they are related much to the chagrin of both parties concerned. The first issue was very introductory concerning the new guys in the tank, and re-introductory in the case of Gen. Stuart I've enjoyed what I've read so far, so I'm interested in where this is heading.
