UAMOU From Another Planet!
I am really excited to promote the work of Ayako Takagi, an emerging toy designer and comic artist from Tokyo, Japan! All of her products are hand crafted and display a strong appreciation for minimalism and smart design.
So far she has self-published three volumes of her comic, UAMOU From Another Planet which chronicles the adventures of poor UAMOU who became mysteriously separated from his friends and family on a foreign planet.
Her limited edition figures and hand sewn plushes have become a hot commodity amongst collectors involved in the Tokyocube and Vinyl Pulse scene. And no wonder! Her UAMOU + BOO and MAD UAMOU figures are hand cast and limited to only 200 pieces worldwide!
She recently submitted a MUNNY™ for our 2007 MUNNY™ Show called "Chicken Pox UAMOU"! The image below is an installation of her submission amongst her other hand crafted goods. It will be on view in our new gallery space until Thursday, May 31st!
