Meow Baby!

Jeffrey Brown's newest book "Cat Getting Out of a Bag" is absolutely purr-fect for both comic readers and cat lovers. Sorry for the corny play on words, but if you familiarize yourself with Brown's heart-on-his-sleeve style you would forgive my vernacular. Brown stormed into the indie comic scene in 2002 with his magnificent debut "Clumsy," a true and harrowing reflection on past relationships, which anyone going through heartache should be obligated to read. Since "Clumsy," he has put out a number of books including "Bighead" and "Every Girl is the End of the World to Me," giving him a rather impressive resume for such a new comic talent.

If you're a cat owner or you are looking for a present for a fellow cat lover " Cat Getting Out of a Bag" is the book to get. Brown describes it himself in an interview with Newsarama as "just these little observations of things that cats do and why cat people like them." His modesty aside, Brown captures cat ownership spot-on. My personal favorite strip is a kitty liter gang about how much of a mess cats make when there "indispose." Why anyone would put up with these unpleasantries is clearly a mystery to non-cat owners, but to us cat lovers, and there are a lot of us at Star Clipper, its just more to love.

This blog is dedicated to my cats Gonzo and Pocketru.
