Gallery Construction Underway

Construction of the Gallery has begun in earnest. If you make it into the store, you can see the entire west side of the south wall has been knocked down, revealing the layout for the new space. We've settled on a bid for the bamboo flooring that we'll be laying when it's all done.

Basically, all the framing is complete and we're in a holding pattern on the electrical. That should be finished by Tuesday, which means the walls go up Wednesday, then taping, sanding, finishing and painting. After that, the floor goes in. If all goes according to plan, we'll be finished by May 5. The first show is the St. Louis Munny Show on May 18. Should be a good one!

We have a nice slate of shows scheduled for 2007, and it's proving to be pretty easy to get some terrific artists in to show off their stuff. If you have any ideas for a show, I suggest you send them to the gallery manager, May Tran (may AT starclipper DOT com). We're open to any and all suggestions! Think of this space as a gallery for not only cool urban art and vinyl shows, but sketch and pencil shows, panels shows, you name it. St. Louis should be getting some sweet talent through this space and we look forward to bringing our customers the very best.

And by the way, if you want to follow the image diary of the gallery construction, go check it out.
